Console Yourself

It is often said that salty water is the cure to one’s sadness ~ whether it be in form of tears, the sea or sweat

Have you ever felt so drained that you had no energy to get back up? Have you ever felt the urge to strive forward only to find yourself fall backwards? Or have you ever stood there staring blank on what to do next? Well, Congratulations! You’re progressing.

This blog does not focus on encouragement but rather where your console lies. Different people at different times do different things to feel better. There have been times I’ve baked a cake at midnight just so the aroma could console me. There have been moments I’ve written poems only to burn the paper later because mentally I believe that the fire consumes your pain together with paper. There have also been times I’ve stood in the middle of the rainy pavement so that the rain would wash away my sorrow. Sounds like a movie? Not really.

The thing is, everyone has their own unique way of letting pain and suffering go. What is crucial is the ability to know what works for you. Perhaps it’s the sea, perhaps it’s a good book or perhaps it’s music with heavy workout. But whatever it is, I hope you find it and once you do, use it. Use it to your utmost best, use it to build yourself, use it to master pain and control it. Because if you do not know what works for you, you cannot help yourself.

For me personally, the sea is my ultimate consoling point. Whether it be a long walk to feel the sand in between my toes or to stand at the bank and hear the waves crashing in, it is where I find closure – with my ownself. It is where I focus and regain my inner peace. And trust me when I say this, it vitalizes me to go on the extra mile, to be the best at what I do and so much more. To my readers, I honestly hope you have your source of console and it’d be great to hear what yours is 🙂

Until then,
Yours x
